Habitat for Humanity of Craven County is
scheduled to start their fi rst build in Havelock
this fall. After a diligent 18 month search for
property in Havelock, we have purchased a
piece of property in Ketner Heights. We were
able to purchase this property with funds
graciously provided by the Harold H. Bate
Foundation. We are currently working on house
plans, site development, permits and utilities.
Soon after that, we intend to start clearing the
land in preparation for a fall construction start.
Habitat’s new homeowner partner is Daisy
Frazier. Daisy has waited patiently for Habitat
to secure property in Havelock by earning sweat
equity hours working on other Habitat builds in
New Bern.
We hope that we can begin to build new
partnerships and friends as we start this house. If you would like to be part of the volunteer
team please contact Donna Patterson, Volunteer
Coordinator. You can also check out the Build
Schedule online at www.cravencountyhabitat.org.
