Havelock Duplex

We are so excited to be reaching the end of a very long awaited build for two deserving familes. The Sutton and Morris families have truly worked hard the last 6 months and Habitat is looking forward to having both these families in their new homes by the holidays.

Neither rain, nor SNOW!

Yep, we started framing the Frazier home in Havelock on Saturday, January 23rd and it started snowing!  Yes, snowing!  The volunteers and the Die Hards and our partners at Bob 93.3 radio preveiled however. The first two walls were up by the end of the workday despite the snow!  Come on out and hopefully we will have some warmer weather and help us build!  Thanks to the brave folks that dressed in layers and kept building through the snow!

The 50th house for Habitat Craven County has begun!  The footings are in, the slab is poured and we are ready to start framing on our two bedroom home.  Volunteers will include local Marines and Sailors, local churches, Daisy Frazier (our new homeowner) friends, family and co-workers.  But, here’s the great big news — wait for it, wait for it…Bob 93.3, part of The Next Media family will be partnering with HFH for this build!  The first remote will be on Saturday, January 22 — come out and meet “Hollywood” and Lauren and help Habitat and Bob build!

Tucker Home Dedication

On August 22 Habitat dedicated their 48th home.  The Tucker family received the keys to their new home on Sunday afternoon at the 2:00pm dedication.  Volunteers, family and friends joined in the celebration.  Ketra thanked all the volunteers, especially the DieHards, and her father who helped make her dream of home ownership come true.  Ketra has worked tirelessly on her house and she has had a lot of help along the way.  Thanks to:  the Collegiate Challenge groups from Colgate University and Champlain Valley Union High School.  The Love in Action students from Epiphany School, the women of the 2010 Women Build and all the other individual volunteers who listened to their hearts tell their hands what to do.   Habitat would also like to thank all of the volunteers who show the love of Christ each day when they come and build with us.  Many blessings to all of you.
