Where Habitat Craven County Builds
Since 1989, Habitat Craven has built homes in three neighborhoods throughout New Bern: Walt Bellamy Drive, Devers Circle and Riverstation neighborhood. Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Bern became Habitat for Humanity of Craven County in 2007, the geographical service area now includes all of Craven County. Our 50th house is underway in Havelock.
The most stabilizing factor in any family is a home. The most stabilizing factor in any neighborhood is home ownership. Habitat homeowners annually contribute over $24,000 in property taxes. In turn, our home ownership program has created a committed class of homeowners, who continually take an active role in the development and protection of their respective neighborhoods.
